On the day when the Mumbai sun had an agenda to burn each and every Justin Bieber fan with its scorching heat, the most-awaited ‘Justin Bieber Purpose Tour’ happened. I, along with a colleague went with an open mind to witness how a Canadian singer would battle the Mumbai heat without throwing a tantrum. The joke was on us because we were the ones who hopped from gate to gate of the famous D.Y. Patil stadium to catch a glimpse of a singer of whom we aren’t even fans of.
To be honest, we weren’t expecting a massive crowd because hey, who wants to get fried under the May sun just to see Bieber? But we were wrong. People turned up, chaos happened, and Justin even said ‘Sorry.’ I mean he sang ‘Sorry’ and everything was fine.
Here’s an honest account of what happened at the Justin Bieber Purpose Tour which took place on May 10.
Fans from the age group of 12 to 20 flocked the stadium in ‘Purpose tour’ t-shirts. They sang ‘Sorry’ while waiting in the queues, posed with ‘I love Justin’ placards, while their parents were slyly grinning witnessing their love for the singer.
People used the opportunity to make money by selling a small bottle of water at Rs 100! People were buying because they were helpless and wanted to quench their thirst (obviously) We tried to complain how unfair this was but the sellers did not budge.
